Arris DG860 na Maybe Sip Translation is applied by default and older version of the firmware does not give you access to disable this or even show that it is enabled.     If this is the case you have to have the ISP update modem firmware and disable the SIP and Firewall.

On the DG860A, the SIP ALG can be disabled by the provider. In addition, ask to have H.323/.225 disabled as well.

Arris TG1672, DG1670, NVG595 na Yes Put the router in True Bridge Mode and, very importantly, disable the Firewall.  Specifically, leaving the Firewall on, but making every option as permissive as possible did not fix the problem.  In the interface, go to Firewall and Firewall Settings and uncheck the "Enable" box.  Save and restart the router and then restart the phone.

On the DG860 modems, Sip Translation is applied by default and older version of the firmware does not give you access to disable this or even show that it is enabled. If this is the case you have to have the ISP update modem firmware and disable the SIP and Firewall.

Note:  Arris devices with an "M" in the model typically are a modem-only and not a a router and as such, are not a problem.

AT&T U-Verse Pace 5268AC Gateway na No This broadband gateway does not support disabling SIP ALG. We recommend configuring your gateway to function only as a modem, not a router (Bridge Mode). You will need to use another router that supports disabling SIP ALG.

AT&T na na Yes With most AT&T modem/routers, SIP ALG will be turned on by default. You can disable it via the web GUI. Before going to the web GUI, you'll need the Device Access Code listed on the side of the device.
Once you have that, open a browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.254 (default IP) where you'll be brought to the device status page.
From here, click on Firewall and then click Firewall Advanced. You'll be prompted for the Device Access Code from above here.
Once you've done that, you'll be in the Firewall Advanced settings page. For the SIP ALG option, change the selection from ON to OFF and click save.
