Using The Portal Hotdesking Feature

Hotdesking allows you to work at another phone at your company while still being able to make and receive calls as if you were sitting at your own desk.

Start by logging into the portal at

On the right hand side of your screen you should see a section labeled Active Phones with a plus sign in the top right corner. Click the plus sign to open the Activate Phone dialog box. If you don't see this section, please contact support so that It can be enabled for you.

Type in the extension you'll be working from in the box, then click Call

Answer the call on the phone and enter your voicemail PIN followed by the pound sign. Once the system accepts your PIN, you can click done. You'll now see that in the Active Phones Box that you now have the new phone you just activated.

To ensure you receive calls properly, make sure that the box is checked next to the phone you want to receive calls at. In most cases, it should automatically select the phone you just activated via hotdesking. 

If you use call center features such as call queues, you'll also need to make yourself Online to receive calls in your queue.

Once you are finished using this phone, go to the Active Phones Box again and click the red X next to the phone you wish to deactivate. This will remove the phone from your account and release it back to the original owner. Also make sure to check that the Active Phone checkbox is accurate.
